FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below you will find some questions I’m often asked.
Have a read, but if there is anything you need answering that isn’t here, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Q. You’re based in the Metro NY/NJ area. Will you travel elsewhere?
A. Yes, I’m based near The Big Apple. But, I’ve just returned from Atlanta. Get me there, and I’ll be there (presuming the local laws allow me to work, there).
Q. What preparations do you make before the wedding?
A. About a month before the wedding, I’m going to want to have a conversation with you about the final details of the wedding.
Q. How would you describe your style?
A. My goal is to tell the story of your wedding. I don’t want your album to look like all the other family’s albums. I hope that when you look back at these pictures in years to come, you’ll feel something special with every image. Perhaps, “there’s Uncle George wiping the tears from his eyes. I almost forgot that happened.”
Q. Do you photograph in B&W or color?
A. Both. I lean toward black and white but in the end, you’re going to see both in your final delivery. I do all my own editing and apply my own signature style to your special day’s images.
Q. Do I take group shots?
A. I will do small amount of group shots as this is often expected. I also know that there are certain weddings that require a very complete set of group shots. In this case, I’ll usually engage a “second shooter” to cover this need. I want to not be distracted too much from the reason you’re selecting me, which is to tell the story and pursue wedding documentary images.
Q. How Do We Book?
A. Just call or email me anytime and I will check availability. I will require a completed and signed contract and a non-refundable booking fee of $200 to secure my services for your wedding date. The retainer fee can be paid by check or credit card. I cannot hold any dates without both the form and the fee. The remainder of the fee is due 30 days before the wedding date.
Q. What Happens After the Wedding?
A. Once its over, all that is left are the memories, stories and… the pictures. It will take up to 6 weeks for me to edit your pictures (often less). I will assemble an online gallery. After that you’ll be able to get USB’s, prints and albums can be produced.
My albums are built by hand in Australia. It can take up to 4-8 weeks to receive the album after you make your selection.
Q. Are You Insured?
A. Yes, I carry general liability insurance.
